Formed in late 2005, punk rock band Old Kent Road spent much of 2006 and 2007 feverishly gigging across their hometown of Sydney. With a band name hijacked directly from the Monopoly board, the band take their influences from the American punk rock tradition (think The Lawrence Arms, Against Me! and Alkaline Trio) but still maintain a uniquely Australian perspective and sound. The result is an exciting mix of galloping rhythms, frenetic drumming and distinct vocals. In November 2006 Old Kent Road released their debut EP What Have You Done With Your Cerebellum?. |
