Bio

Founded on a common love of punk rock, ska, reggae and jagerbombs, and powered by the dream of fame and far-reaching female attention, AWOL comprises five mates who enjoy nothing more than getting together and sharing the most revolutionary sound since the tribal drumming of the Venda people of ancient southern Africa.

The line-up includes Curci (Topnovil) beltin drums, Lil Chris (DarkestDay) beltin guitar, Pete (some emo band) shreddin lead, Coxy basifying, and Sellars’ lyrical ingenuity.

Their music is true; the good times are evident in their upbeat style and the hard in their provocative lyrics. The pure fun they exude makes them enjoyable to watch as they get dangerous and personify the intangible fusion of good times and self destruction.

The boys are proud of the ease with which they hold onto their reputation as the baddass-est band in Wollongong, having, in the space of 12 months, been disqualified from their first band comp, banned from their local venue, almost evicted from their first Sydney show for borrowing chips from the bistro counter, and developing quite a nice band police profile for tagging cop cars and other devious behaviour.

All in all, they are a band not to be missed. Do yourself a favour; get to a show and get dangerous, but don’t turn your back for a second, they’ll hit on your mum.

Sellars - Lead Vocals
