The Australian Punk Alliance is set up to give bands, fans, venues, labels and anyone else who is involved with; or wants to be involved with Punk and Hardcore in Australia the chance to show themselves to their town, their state and their country 24/7.
It is here to try to give a voice to those who don't have an instrument in hand a chance to voice their opinions, and a place for like minded people to communicate, regardless of location.
Well, the reasons are varying, but the main ones are in the below rant:
I would like to have a go at putting something back into Punk. A mixture of boredom and a thirst for knowledge with the different sounds from the different states, and different bands.
I would like to see all the Australian Punk and Hardcore when i like, as well as hear new and (possibly) unheard of bands Australian punk knowledge…I love all the shit I hear (mainly on Short.Fast.Loud + Stu Harvey) and this has given me a great base for what we have in Punk and Hardcore. But I would like to increase it, and I am pretty sure I’m not alone here.
Boredom. I'm not in any bands at the moment so i may as well do something productive!
To Produce Crappy top-40 poseur Bands: The website will not host ANY crappy “daddy didn't play soccer with me” bands. I will not let it happen. It is designed for punk bands, more so for those who may need all the extra plugs it can get, or who cannot break into any radio stations . It isn't designed for PG13 crap. It's here for punk, and it's related genres, and for bands that spend more time playing than looking at their hair.
And that's why it's here.
